Meet Our Teachers and Administrators
Early Learning is a place to develop friendships that last a lifetime. Through communication, collaboration, and responsiveness, parents and children develop strong bonds with other parents and teachers.
Allison Rischall
Allison has been a valued member of the Beth Sholom team for 2 years. Prior to moving to out area, Allison taught in Ohio public schools for 11 years, specializing in first and second grade. Allison strongly believes that children learn best through play and fun activities, and she advocates for making learning enjoyable. She holds a master’s degree in early childhood education. As a mother of two girls who have attended Beth Sholom’s preschool, Allison has a personal connection to the school.
Beata Ostrowski
Beata Ostrowski joined Beth Sholom this year and has twelve years of experience working in both public and preschools. Her philosophy centers around love and care, and she believes that collaborative learning is key. Beata holds an associate degree in human services. Her family is everything to her, as she has been happily married for 10 years and has two beautiful daughters.
Carly Tancredi
Carly Tancredi has been an integral part of Beth Sholom for over 10 years, serving in various roles. With her expertise and dedication, she has successfully guided the teachers towards achieving success, ensuring that the students have all the necessary resources for their success. Carly holds a master’s degree in Special Education with a concentration in Educational Leadership, which further enhances her ability to support and lead the educational community at Beth Sholom.
Evette Perlman
Evette enjoys working with kids and puts her heart into her work. She works in the toddler room and has two kids of her own at the school.
Gabrielle Daniels
Gabrielle Daniels may be new to Beth Sholom, but she brings a wealth of experience working with children. From her time at camp to teaching swim classes, Gabrielle understands the importance of patience and maintaining a positive attitude. Having graduated from Cheltenham High School in 2023, she is currently pursuing her education at Montgomery County Community College. Gabrielle is excited to contribute her skills and passion to the Beth Sholom community.
Ilana Defranco
Ilana DeFranco has been an integral part of the Beth Sholom community for the past decade. Prior to joining our school staff, she taught at another Jewish preschool. Ilana strongly believes in love and acceptance, and her goal is to create a safe and nurturing environment where her students feel comfortable leaving their families and enjoy coming to school. With a bachelor’s degree in education, specializing in art education, Ilana brings creativity and passion to her teaching. She is happily married and has a daughter who, like her and her husband, is also a teacher.
Jennifer Soltysiak
Jen has been a dedicated preschool teacher at Beth Sholom for 6.5 years, accumulating a total of 20 years of experience in preschools. She has also worked with adults who suffer from mental illness. Jen brings an unique perspective to help children progress through play and exploration. Jen holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Temple University. Outside of work, Jen is very close to her family and has a deep love for her many cats.
Kay Marie Cawley
Teaching for Kay is a way to help children explore the world around them and gain confidence to navigate their surroundings. Kay has been part of Beth Sholom for over 10 years and adores all her students like her own. Watching them move onto the next phase of childhood is one of Kays favorite things. She loves spending time with her many grandchildren and being their biggest cheerleader.
Lisa Baker
Lisa Baker is one of the longest-serving members of the Beth Sholom team, having worked at our school for 18 years. She has been teaching Montessori since January 1990 and firmly believes in treating each child as an individual. Lisa fosters independence and embraces differences, creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment. She has been married since 1991 and has three children and three grandchildren, who bring her immense joy.
Nancy Morginstin
Nancy has spent the past seven years teaching preschool. Her teaching style is a fun messy, hands-on approach allowing children to explore their world in a safe, age-appropriate setting. She believes in focusing on academic skills and social, emotional and independent ones. She has an undergraduate degree in sociology from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and a teaching certificate from Fayetteville State University. Before becoming a preschool teacher, she spent many years teaching second grade in North Carolina.
Sheryl Andreoli
Sheryl Andreoli has been a dedicated preschool teacher in Beth Sholom’s three-year-old classroom for 17 years. In addition to previous preschool teaching experience, Sheryl was the director of the JCC summer camp. She holds an associate degree from Widener University. Outside of the classroom, Sheryl cherishes her wonderful family, which includes her daughter and two beloved cats. She firmly believes that children learn best through meaningful play.
Shoshi Nadav
Shoshi Nadav has been a dedicated member of the Beth Sholom staff for 18 years. Her passion lies in Montessori education, and she enjoys teaching children how to foster independence. Shoshi teaches Hebrew and believes in bringing love and laughter to everything she does. She earned her Child Development Associate (CDA) certification in Early Childhood and is Montessori trained. Shoshi is married with three children and is blessed with eight wonderful grandchildren.
Vered Zach
Vered has been a dedicated member of the Beth Sholom team for 19 years. With her CDA in early childhood education, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the classroom. Vered’s philosophy centers around creating a warm, fun-loving, and engaging environment for her students. She believes in being hands-on and fostering independence, allowing each child to grow and thrive. Outside of work, Vered cherishes her family time, enjoying the company of her three children and husband.
Zehava Afenzar
Zehava has been teaching for over ten years and has been with Beth Sholom for over eight. She has an Early Childhood Certification and is a Certified Medical Assistant. Zehava has three children of her own.
